WHO WE ARE
Teen Alert Program, or TAP808, is a program of the Domestic Violence Action Center (DVAC). Our mission is to promote and celebrate healthy relationships for all ages, and to tap out teen dating violence through prevention education, individual advocacy, and social change.
We center our work around building a movement where Hawaii's youth feel safe, empowered, and dignified in making decisions on who and how they love. We are an inclusive program that believes all humans should be treated equally regardless of age, race, ethnicity, gender, sexual orientation, class, culture, ability, etc. TAP808 serves anyone in Hawaiʻi ages 12–21 who is experiencing, at risk for, or has been affected by dating violence.
We help fulfill 'Healthy Relationship' curriculums with our free presentations for schools!
We listen, we don't judge.
We know that reaching out can feel scary. You may not know what to call what you’re experiencing, you may have questions, or you may simply want someone to talk to. There is no judgment here. Our advocates are here to listen, support you, and help you understand your options—whether you’re dealing with something that feels small, something that feels overwhelming, or you’re just not sure what’s happening.
Many members of our team are survivors themselves, and our trauma-informed approach has been shaped by the voices and experiences of survivors. You don’t have to have everything figured out before you reach out. We’ll meet you where you are and support you with compassion, understanding, and respect. Our conversations are fully confidential & we'll never force you to do anything.
