Our trained advocate will examine client's current circumstances and find ways to discuss the situation.

+ Safety Planning

Develop skills and options for creating a healthy relationships. Advocates can help with personalized safety plans to keep someone safe. More on safety planning here

+ Domestic Violence Education

Learn the common tactics and warning signs of abuse, as well as traits that contribute to both healthy and unhealthy relationships.

Youth can request an Advocate to accompany them to court hearings for restraining orders and paternity cases. Court accompaniment is limited to teenagers who live on O'ahu.

+ Community Resources

The Teen Advocate can refer teens to various community resources, such as employment opportunities, housing, financial assistance, counseling, childcare, and more.

TAP808's presentations are: free, flexible, inclusive, interactive, and informative.


+ TDV 101

In TDV 101, participants learn about the different types of abuse, warning signs, bystander awareness, healthy relationships, and advocacy / resources. May include additional topics upon request, such as the barriers to speaking out, how to safely use social media, safety planning, etc.

+ TDV 102

For youth who have already completed TDV 101, TDV 102 discusses issues of gender, systems change, and generational violence. More time is also spent discussing and developing habits for having healthy relationships.


Talk Story allows youth to openly and safely discuss teen dating violence and healthy relationships. Facilitators prompt discussions and ask thought-provoking questions. Talk Story is intended for youth who have completed TDV 101.


Lunch rallies are an interactive opportunity for students to engage with TAP808. Students will play games, talk about healthy dating, win some TAP swag, and have fun! Lunch rallies are most successful when youth or school clubs help facilitate with TAP808. Rallies should be requested in conjunction with TAP808 presentations.

These presentations aim to enhance adults' understanding of TDV. Learn ways to further support youth through safety planning, working with the TAP808 Advocate, and challenging biases they may have about teen relationships.
