We asked students the question,
“What do you wish people knew about teen relationships?"
Here were some of their answers.

I wish people knew that it's not puppy love and it could be real love, because maybe that couple plans on getting married.

I wish that people knew it's possible to have a healthy relationship in high school. Although it's not very common, it's still possible. I wish I could tell people that not everyone in their teens are dumb and clueless, some people are willing to commit to a healthy relationship.

I wish people knew that teen relationships are at times serious and not just practice. I wish I could tell people that it is possible to have a healthy relationship in high school.

It's not always easy to get out of a relationship. Some people are wrong in the head and can force you to stay. Always know who you are. Don't let anyone make you feel like you're beneath them.

I wish people knew it's harder for teens to get out of abusive relationships because they're scared of what it might lead to.
I wish they knew that everyone is capable to love no matter what age.

I wish people knew teen relationships were not "dumb" or not okay. I wish I could tell people that it is possible to have a healthy relationship as a high school student, because there are many control freak adults out there and teen relationships may be a bit safer.

People can have strong feelings in teen relationships. You can still have boundaries, space, and love in a young relationship.

I would tell someone that teen relationships can be serious. People should always have healthy relationships regardless of their age.

The stereotypes aren't always true. Love is real, it has no age.

Just because it may not have worked out for you doesn't mean it can't work for someone else.

I wish people knew how in this 21st century, teens know a lot more than they think we do. With all these things on social media, we are learning how to have a real relationship.

Teen relationships can be cheesy and goofy, but it is the best time to practice.
